@persia2:disqus The best book for reading about clothes is Bergdorf Blondes.

My favorite is Cat's Eye. I loaned it to my mom and she loved it too and she's pretty picky about books.
It's my favorite Muppet movie too. I still listen to the soundtrack.
I recently read I Wear the Black Hat: Grappling with Villains (Real and Imagined) by Chuck Klosterman. It's very interesting to me because people that others see as "bad" I often sympathize or empathize with or see as heroic.
You should read The Things They Carried. It's partially fiction and is a personal account of The Vietnam War, but is one of my favorite books.
@avclub-39717cca2267328b0d16d40c720dfd6c:disqus There was also a recurring prostitute character that threatened suicide when Harry didn't return her affections.
I once took a film class in college and I wrote a 27 page paper about David Lynch (even though the required minimum was 10 pages) the day before it was due. I got an A. I RULE!
From everything I've heard/read about him, I suspect that Asimov was bipolar. Mania would help him get a lot of writing done.
Actually it's the second chapter that describes everyone, their lives, and most importantly how they dress!
Do you remember his failed attempt at a book for adults?
I always suspected that Theodor ("Dr. Seuss") Geisel's widow wrote that book she happened to "find" after he died.
My dad who had great taste in books otherwise loved Tom Clancy, and I think it was because as a military man he loved the "pornographic descriptions of military tech."
Even as a kid I thought it was strange that the first of The Boxcar Children books was about them living in a boxcar and the subsequent books (at least the ones I read) were about them solving mysteries.
@avclub-09f700cd7fcae2e9f63ea6cdb7aa76b0:disqus I loved The Baby-Sitters Club when I was a kid. I tried to re-read the books as an adult and they're awful. The characters are mostly pretty horrible people too.
I re-watched The Dead Zone for the first time in 10+ years a few weeks ago. I had forgotten just how small Martin Sheen's role really is in it, since his character looms large in my memory of the film.
I love Velvet Goldmine. Jonathan Rhys Meyers is the most beautiful creature to ever walk this earth.
@avclub-d019eb089e65903455cc52308f00b997:disqus As someone with ADHD I have always suspected that Jesse has it as well. People with ADHD deal with positive and negative enforcement exactly like Jesse does.
@avclub-5bc6960dad8ab0694bb4d6ff884b0c1e:disqus Yeah, I went to a Catholic school/church in Florida when I was young that was split between Irish Americans and Latinos. Everyone jokingly called it "Saint MickSpic." My mom had to explain to me to not use that term amongst people that didn't go to the Church or school…
I once mentioned that I don't watch Community and people were so nasty that it ensured that I will never watch it.
Even if it's a show I never watched it, learning the a once-zeitgeist-y show is limping towards its end mostly forgotten makes me sad.
