She wasn't great, but January Jones may be the worst host of the last 20 years (not saying she's worse than Seagal)

I wonder if they brought Tina in late in the process once they realized Jones would have trouble doing a monologue solo. She was extremely nervous. Poor woman didn't seem to know what to do with her hands, even when introducing the musical guest.
The cast members were standing as far away from Jones as possible, lined up at the back of the stage. That usually means she did something to piss them off, and they're registering their disapproval.
With Moynihan nowhere to be seen, I assume Bennett got his parts.
Yeah, what the AV Club calls "recent" detours happened 14 and 7 years ago, respectively.
I always felt a little bad for the guy. He was basically the first guy hired to be a new Belushi-type (paving the way for Chris Farley, Horatio Sanz, Bobby Moynihan, etc.), and he was replaced by Jim Belushi. His one full season was marred by the shenanigans of Michael O'Donoghue, who was head writer for the first…
Duke's been on Schitt's Creek some, too. She and Catherine O'Hara are friends going back to childhood.
He was hired on SNL as the "Belushi" and got deeply, deeply addicted to cocaine, by all accounts. And ironically, he was on the show when Belushi died.
Yeah, the only season less re-aired than Ebersol's first season (season 7) was the truly awful Doumanian season (season 6).
From what I hear, the execs thought it would be a true four-quadrant film, and a big summer hit. Then they saw it and realized it wasn't just a kids' movie, it was a little kids' movie. A friend of mine has three boys. The three-year-old is PUMPED to see this. The 6 and 8-year olds think it looks stupid.
I believe this is the last movie he was able to charge that much, which may be why he doesn't make movies much anymore.
What's most interesting about those links is that neither has worked in film much since 2011. Was No Strings Attached that much of a career-killer? BoxOfficeMojo makes it look like it made a lot of money.
Does anyone recognize the actors?
Clark Duke and his partner are, I think, Franken and Davis, who went from Boston straight to LA in the early '70s before moving to NYC to work on SNL. Davis devotes a chapter to their Comedy Store days in his memoir.
Without a doubt.
And they're playing DC the night before, so you know they'll be rested and ready to rock after that 9-hour drive plus customs check.
Does anyone know what's going on with SNL reruns? They got pulled from both Comedy Central and Logo after New Year's. I can't find any info on it anywhere online (like a $$ dispute, or someone else buying the rights).
Kimmel does that too from time to time. I assume it was a) cross-promotion for a TBS show and b) the fact that just Wyatt Cenac or Ana Gasteyer wouldn't be a big enough draw.
I crossed it off my bucket list. It was…disappointing. People who went to tapings in the Late Night days tell me the experience was much better than the TBS tapings.
Cheri Oteri's post-surgery face…. oh, I can't unsee that.
