I'm guessing it's what he auditioned with. As long as they don't pretend he's never been in a studio (like they did with season 4's Joshua), I don't see the problem.

I dunno. I've questioned his worth at various points during the season, but he demonstrated why she keeps him around during the baseball episode when he was talking to the press. He's the only one on her staff who feels at home in an old boys club (though Amy could certainly handle her own).
