I was appalled that "The Artist" took best picture. I think the director and star are brilliant and will make great films. But this throwback film had nothing profound or original and was relatively flat story-wise. Dishonorable mention goes to "Out of Africa". Dull as paste, it was instantly forgettable.

I agree, living in tornado alley, you generally try to run to safety (ditch) not JUST STAND THERE after saving Wally the dog for cripes sake.
