Really, there's only one truly worthwhile 80's ski movie, and that's Hot Dog: The Movie. I hope we get to see Sunny's take on the Chinese Downhill.
Just don't listen to any Leonard Cohen recorded after 1980 and you'll be fine. The production on his early albums is great and minimalist. Some of his best songs were ruined by 80s production.
King Khan seems to get most of the credit in this band, probably because of his Vice pedigree with the Shrines, but Mark "BBQ" Sultan is the real driving force. The whole reality show was great, but the part where he goes into great detail about his daily routine had me almost on the floor. The part with the theatre owner casually making a masturbation gesture while talking about Whittier also had me in stitches.
