I know! Besides, it seems almost like they wait for stuff to be in the American cultural canon anyway. Are we to criticize them for sending up "The Prisoner" now too, because it came 30 years too late? It's a slippery slope, I fuggn tell ya

Two people with no senses of humor -Homers through history was great, and a neat little callback to Lisa The Simpson.

You lost me at "the entire show has adopted these qualities." The giant majority of all new episodes DO pontificate and moralize to an extent by show's end, with the exception of 4 or 5 stragglers per season - a ratio that has been going on for at least 15 years. Or are we all so lost as to not admit the Frank Grimes…

I've been watching since 1992 at the age of nine, and, barring a couple year gap in the 2000s, have watched it religiously since 2007 and don't really feel like anything's truly disappointed my appointment viewing, save for a few clunkers

So we're trusting trailers now? I haven't even seen this one yet, but The Guatemalan Handshake and The Catechism Cataclysm are both quality morsels of futtin' nucks-itude, so if Rohal's name is attached, I'm game. cuz c'mon

I saw The Front a few weeks back on TCM and was nearly shocked at how much I enjoyed it - need to bone up on more Ritt - my gf has a copy of Hud and I also want to check out stuff like Sounder and Norma Rae

I will check this out ASAP - while I like Poitier enough, it's always through that shield of "oh right, most movies didn't represent any semblance of reality for another 15 or 20 years (esp. for blacks)"
