First one I heard was Murray Street, I'd say it's a good place to start as it is fairly accessible but still adventurous, Sonic Nurse would also be good, my favourite is Sister and there's no reason why you couldn't start with it.
I'll also just add Goo to the ones already mentioned.

Was the last week of the Proms, I saw a Tchaikovsky's 6th by Osmo Vanska that didn't dwell too much on the pathos and was quite exciting, and the beginning of the concert having shown the audience to be clap-happy, he had the good sense not to leave any break between the third and fourth movement (I'm not necessarily

But those that do are usually amazing, and so far it seems it's one of them.

@Reformed Calvinist: We all are…

Maybe @avclub-b7784c3d4ede54a8f3e13b304f3a991a:disqus just really likes fucking guys?

I only have a complete lack of interest, is that acceptable?

Frenchman here. "Je T'Aime Moi Non Plus" by Serge Gainsbourg would be fitting.

I know I've read it, but I don't remember a single thing about it. So it can't have been too bad.

The thread is pretty much dead now, but you should try again next week as soon as possible after the article is posted (5pm in London UK, I'll let you see what that is where you are).
I did receive plenty of genuinely good and useful advice and lots of encouragement, and we've pretty much all had that at one point when

A company I used to work for published a book called 1001 Whiskies You Have to Drink Before You Die.
It's a very handy reference with bottles from all over the world (even Pakistan), but since they made me redundant, I'd only recommend the book be checked out of the library or bought second-hand.

My father loves Macallan so they're among the first I've ever tried, I've only had the 10 and 12 though but they are indeed very good.
But they seem to be redoing their range at the moment and it's getting confusing. And I find Glenfarclas to be similar enough and much better value.

I just got home and decided to celebrate the good news I mentioned above with a glass of Blue Label, I don't think I'd ever buy a bottle (that one was a present) but damn that is nice.

You're right it was BoA Merryl Lynch. I got confused as he was German.

Good luck!

I am leaving on very good term, they are slightly annoyed by the short notice (I start on Monday) but it's something they knew was possible.
It was really a dream company in many respects, but I was only there for a maternity cover.
I just hope the next one will be as nice.

For Bourbon, I'll second Buffalo Trace, Elijah Craig is also nice, my fave is Blanton's Gold, but it's a but pricey and I think it may have been discontinued.
For scotch, Glenlivet 15, Glenfarclas age statement you can afford (they tend to be very good value). For the peaty/smoky ones Lagavulin 16, Laphroaig (10 or

Top of my head giving it no thought at all

"Make Time" by Dark Dark Dark, bought the album as it was in the one euro bin and I knew the name of the band from somewhere a few months ago. Have been listening non-stop since.

Good luck!
More or less the same for me, it's only for a maternity cover at the moment, but it's a big company. A friend hired on a three months contract a year and a half ago is still there.
