Nice pick. I keep meaning to do a Rohmer massive rewatch.
That was indeed very fun, but I remember being a lot more entertained by La Collectionneuse, which I'm guessing is done from the wrong perspective to fit with the theme of the week.

Actually, it's a Film.
I haven't seen all his movies, and not all the ones you mention.
But to me they are more about a journey into moral decay, and it's about the little things that indeed seemingly repeat themselves, or a series of variations, but escalate until they reach a point where you have to deal with the consequences. It doesn't…
Mayhem's Grand Declaration of War
I like Wagner. Nothing to see here.
I think there were about eight months between my first and second comments (after I don't know how much lurking), but then my job got really boring.
Urgh! A decent and cheap local Chinese place is what I miss most from France (they were everywhere!).
Only because the Smurfs 2 review went up yesterday.
Isn't that something you could say of almost every movie, book, TV show ever?
I'll still try to catch it just because it's Schrader.
He's never hidden his influences very well, he has previously openly quoted Bresson (I've never seen any Dreyer, so can't tell if it shows in his movies).
I definitely view it as part of my "silly countries" excursions (I'm still hoping to get my hands on Czech whisky some day), it's the second one I've had from them (other was ch.6), I may try more in the future, but if that doesn't happen I'll be fine with it; and if you didn't care for the one you've had, I have no…
I probably won't have anything to report for a couple of months :(
I'm trying to cut down a little, maybe finish a bottle or two before I buy another one, and bars are getting expensive (and a bit of a detour in the summer months), so don't really have anything new to report. A bit annoyed that my father, currently…
@avclub-d542a3419c3ad57206a96bcc86155ebc:disqus I went to Florence in the fall a few years ago, it kept pouring. There's a reason why it's all green.
Given how long the waiting list is, I figure I have time to prepare myself, and save enough money to do it right (it also helps that I'm in Europe, so travel costs wouldn't be prohibitive).
I went to New York a few years ago, I was unfortunately younger than 21, old enough to actually pay attention and enjoy myself, but I'd like to go back and be able to sit at the counter when I have an orange juice at the hotel bar (it may not be orange juice this time).
I wasn't planning to go to that tour (I don't think I've seen the movie, and the people I'd go there with couldn't care less either), I am planning to go someday, ideally not too faraway either, but it will most likely be focused on opera.
Salzburg's also on the list, mostly for the festival. I had decided last year that this summer would be it, but I didn't really care for the programme in the end.
It may actually be one of the next trips I make.
I'm really sorry to read, you have my sympathies.
It reminds me that it used to be Curb Your Enthusiasm for me, I might be a happier person now.
I don't know, I'm still trying to figure it out, but it's fun.
