The only flaw is that whoever loses will have to put out twice as many records to cover the damages, is it enough of a reason to hope Chris Brown gets out scot-free for that one?

The book was called the Grandmothers; anyone who's read it, but actually remembers anything about it, would be able to confirm that the movie is apparently made to be a bit more dramatic? I don't recall anything so conflictual, if anything everything was made to feel quite normal. Am I misremembering or just really

I don't recall minding the CGI that much (I want to rewatch it now), and maybe I'm talking out of my ass or thinking of another movie, but I think I remember that quite a lot of care had been put in organising shots (lots of symetry among other things) or generally the way things would look, not necessarily

I had actually forgotten about Frankenstein, I remembered the vampires and werewolves, but knew I was missing another "classic".
It is overstuffed, and (maybe as a result?) not really involving (SPOILER (even though you won't care):in that category I seem to remember Kate Beckinsale's character dying as well), but it

Van Helsing…
To be honest, I won't try to claim it's a great movie by any measure, but I don't get the hate.

Agreed, it was a great little fun adventure/action movie, I even then went to see the director's following movie without checking anything about it.

I like crevette

That takes me back, funny to see the transformation of a trend from :"hipster wankery" to commonly accepted in the span of a few years.

I second the Elijah Craig or Buffalo Trace recommendations, but I don't live in the US, and knowing that that's how much bottles cost there is depressing. A glass of Blanton's Gold should fix that.

You shut your filthy whore mouth!

I always wanted a big brother to let me know about cool new music.

I want to know more about the means wearing skinny ties, are they beating up people wearing the wide ones? Is that why there are so many more of them?

While Todd has my sympathies, I'm going to thank mustache guy too; good thing the boss is not here at the moment to hear me stiffle my laughter.

It's one record instead of two, hopefully there would be creative impasses leading to a very long gestation process, and it would most likely end with a write-up of that year's least essential records for our amusement, all-round victory!

It depends, what are the odds of a collaborative album to mark their reconciliation?

I…ahem…have never listened to Dylan.
Is this the part where I get banned?

Thank you for the recommendations (especially Willy Tea Taylor), that's pretty much exactly what I was looking for (I'd have preferred an ode to Bulleit or Buffalo trace, but that will do).

It may seem like a strange suggestion at first, but Pynchon's Mason and Dixon could work. If you're not too put off by the old-timey prose, it's one of the easier to read he's written; it's so long that it should defeat your attempts to rush through it, and most chapters are relatively short and work as self-contained

Thank you for the Frank Turner mention, I'll look into it a bit more.
