I had to move to the big city to hear Have a Cigar.

wow, T. Rex did the same thing with Bang a Gong (Get it On).
Human Touch era studio chatter with Bruce telling fart jokes would be better than Real Man.
Speaking of folks delivering pizza to folks in Indiana. I kept expecting this to show up on Newswire but it hasn't. Jason Narducy delivered "non-discriminatory pizza" from another shop down the street:
"Let the Gun Do the Talking"
Nice! The first two places I thought of are Ladd's Addition in Portland and South Hedland in Australia. Both places have a lot of twisty turns and it is easy to get lost in.
yeah, that has to be one of the best ways to "discover" a band. No friends talking them up, not reading about them somewhere, etc.
Yes I always had it, especially since my financial investments were mostly in CDs. These were not the Certificates of Deposit mind you, they were the CDs that could play music and 99% of the time, only depreciated over time.
A girl I worked with at the restaurant actually dressed all groupie-like and got backstage, to the point of getting on the tour bus alone with Sebastian. He went to make his move and she said she wasn't that kind of girl, then left the bus.
It also included the Sneaker Pimps, but I don't remember much about them.
Oh yeah, it was a really good show and highly entertaining…I just was not that into him at the time. At one point they were all playing in horse head masks. It was quite a show though. Built to Spill were playing a lot of stuff off Keep it Like A Secret which wasn't out for another year or so. Odelay had just came…
During the Summer of 1997 I went to see a show at a small outdoor venue. Beck was the headliner which I didn't go there to see. I went there to see Elliott Smtih+Quasi, Built to Spill, and Sonic Youth.
They opened up for Skid Row in my small hometown around 1992. My friends and I had no idea who they were but we all kind of agreed that despite rocking out to Skid Row in our Dodge Aires…that Pantera band was much better than Skid Row.
In Seattle 1996 a guy I worked with at a record store, his band was playing in the basement of a house party with a few other bands. After my coworker's band was done, I felt I should at least stick around for the "headliner" that everyone was excited about. They came on and everyone was jumping around with…
Like Alex, I too saw that same Screaming Trees/Soul Asylum/Spin Doctors tour. I really wanted to see Soul Asylum. The Screaming Trees were from 30 miles to the north (Ellensburg, WA) so I had seen them before since they were essentially local. Soul Asylum were good but they played mostly newer stuff from what I…
Oh, I guess Google has been invented too since I last wondered about Odin. Looks like they did get a few albums out and went on to other bands:
Argh a typo and missing the word "director's", thanks for the heads up.
Yeah, the X and Black Flag segments are awesome. If you haven't heard any Germs, at least check out Lexicon Devil since that song is the one that is the most covered (Melvins, Janes Addiction, etc).
My only complaint about Part I is that it was my introduction to the Germs and it put me off from them for a long while. (perhaps unjustified complaint since they might have been shot way early on before they had more songs).
Years ago on Amazon, there was a customer review of the film that was titled "Still waiting for that Odin album!"
