Best Primer Ever. Linklater is my absolute favorite director so this was near perfect. I really like the animated films (waking life being my favorite movie and scanner darkly being neat to a far lesser extent). Would love to see some more info about Sabiston and his rotoscoping techniques and that process/innovation.

I thought that was really strange also. I like Slate but I really don't like their pop culture stuff. It's far superior here and especially the Linklater article today seemed like this articles non-union mexican equivalent.

What a great way to start a review by mentioning Jan Svankmajer: Everyone's favorite Czech Stop-Motion Animator.

Yes, I am very excited about this feature but also slightly disappointed that it might prevent future TV club classic write-ups. The focus here really seems to be casting, the actors and the 'making-of' whereas I'd rather get a little more in depth on what actually happened in these episodes and why we love them so

Home Movies reviews would be so much fun but so exceptionally unnecessary.

I miss United States of Tara. The show quickly surpassed it's gimmickyness and was actually really well done in the end. I stopped watching Jackie after the first season- I'm sick of drug addiction- mental illness is just more interesting!

I was a Male War Bride might be in my top 5 Cary Grant movies. It's hilarious. Would love a re-watch but damn you Sunday Night where everything I like to watch it on at the same time.

As a defender of late-era Simpsons episodes I was appalled by how truly terrible this episode was. For the first time in my life, I turned off a new Simpsons episode. Now I won't be able to say that I've seen every episode, but I won't have to sit through the rest of that painfully terrible 1/2 hour.

I don't really care about the bad plotting and season-long-arc issues in this show. Plot is not one of the most important factors in Bored to Death. It's all character and tone and I have to say- there are few characters on TV that I enjoy spending time with these guys. Just really good references and funny

Dollhouse's Season Finale is pretty amazing. Although I think the big twist/big bad reveal in the last few episodes was pretty badly planned.

How long do you think it'll take Noel to back and read every spoiler comment since S1.

Loved this review! I think Todd and Turk would be a fantastic sitcom premise. Better than the cliched one that is being reviewed. Nevertheless, I keep tuning in each week- I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and really giving this show a chance. But if this show never drastically improves- I will be incredibly

I really liked the book Amerika. Really well written and interesting. It was just starting to get some really strong momentum when I got to the last page and it had a paragraph about how the book was never finished due to Kafka's death and we'll never know how it ended. Man, they should have to tell you that on the

Known to generations of high-school students as “that book that had Gregory Peck in it,”
I doubt most high-schoolers even know who Gregory Peck is.

Not only did I love this entire season but this episode was nothing less than epic. That late shot from the parking garage after Jesse and Walt shake hands was pretty gorgeous. This show really knows its history and brings things and images back from the past. Pretty Pretty Good.

Clarie- your story about the DMB song (a band I loathe by the way) happened to me exactly the same way. I remember being a teenager and listening to that song over and over again thinking about how it, like no other song captured the situation/moment perfectly.

Watching antichrist did make me barf…by it's awesomeness.

It was really creepy that they were sitting like next to each other at the restaurant and that he kept emphasizing that he wasn't his girlfriend. Totally creepy.

I counted five times they emphasized the point that Batista and Laguerta were not divorced. At least the expository dialogue was combined with voice over AND appearances of ghost Harry. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to keep up!
