I don't know, Where the Buffalo Roam is awfully hard to watch.  I watched Fear and Loathing during high shool, and it inspired a wave of Hunter S Thompson book purchases among my friends and me.  When we found out they made a movie of Where the Buffalo Roam, we were at the peak of our excitement about all things

Yeah, I think I see your point.  Humor has been outrageous since the dawn of comedy, but it certainly hasn't always been focused on race.  I wonder where that comes from?  My gut reaction would be to say that it comes out of the fact that the US is obsessed with race, but it's become virtually impossible to speak

So to date, the people who have lost limbs on comedy shows has grown to Buster from Arrested Development, John Hamm on 30 Rock, and Jeff Winger on Community.  That has to be the strangest comedic convention.

Now here's a gimmick I can get behind!

That's an interesting question.  I'm awfully far left, and I actually remember having to learn as a child that there were people who thought that the US wasn't the greatest nation on earth.  As a young child, I remember learning (from my left leaning parents) that our way of life was ideal, but that we should also be

Christmas is increasingly becoming a secular holiday in the US.  One of my roommates is a first generation immigrant from India who observes Hindu holidays and grew up moving back and forth between New Delhi and California, and his entire family celebrates Christmas.  I don't know what the Islamic interpretation of

Elegant Victorian Lady, what is your position on what's to be done with the image of Moslems in the media?  Do you think the portrayal of Hindoos on Outsourced provides a parallel?

I don't know, I think political correctness has enough inherent problems that it seems a little unrealistic to blame people's rejection of it on a cartoon.  Political correctness revolves around the idea that by getting rid of derogatory designations in language, we can diminish racism because racism is reproduced

They'll think twice before valuing the cost of unskilled labor that high!

That could be true.  On the whole, what the US considers to be a centrist position has been moving steadily to the right since Reagan, but I can't help but be excited that there's an actual movement right now that seems to be incorporating more and more labor unions, special interest groups, and ordinary people as it

Yeah, but even Abed only drinks to get good a performance out of Jeff, or to lock gay men into listening to his opinions about sci fi TV shows.  That's gotta be a grey area.

Now that we've established this is a post racial society, here are a bunch of racist opinions I have that I've been waiting to air safely…

Basically, yeah.  It's pretty disturbing place the US has found its way into.  It's like the Monorail episode of the Simpsons but on the scale of global business.

It's getting harder and harder to say.  The Occupy movement is pretty directly antagonistic to a lot of pretty foundational things to capitalism, like the credit system and systematic inequality, and a larger percent of the US public openly supports OWS than they do the Tea Party.  Also, Bernie Sanders is openly

Oh, I understood your post, I didn't mean to pin what I was saying on you.  I was just being a snot about how competitive business can be a place where the degree to which you can be a terrible human being (as it would be measured in any other context) is actually how valuable of an asset you are to the company.

Seeing as homosexuality's been around since the fucking dawn of humanity, I'm mostly surprised it still requires the media to normalize it.

America….maybe not.

It seems like we could easily strike a compromise by making the Muslim family the show follows be the antagonists in the newest season of 24.

This is the worst thing I've heard of since the Menards guy said we should "get rid of the gypsy menace" in one of their commercials
