I remember trying to explain Internet to my mom, and showing her an REM fansite with lyrics, recording information, etc. I was like, "Isn't this cool?" and she just shook her head and said, "This is someone's life's work."

You're writing my life, Phipps
Except MY Unplugged tape had the songs they did with U2 and Natalie Merchant at some MTV awards show.
I didn't figure it out, and felt stupid when it was finally revealed.
I don't even want to read these comments
If people are snarking about the Ramones I don't even want to know about it.
Current strips?
What are some current comic strips you guys are following?
Xander was my identification character when the show was originally airing, and his Season 6 finale speech got me all choked up the first time I saw it. Now that I'm in my 30s and work at a school it's all about Giles fixing the mistakes of these self-absorbed foolish children. Buffy the Vampire Slayer works on…
So, Spicoli, now that you've won the thread, what do you want us all to take away from this exchange? I, for one, will think twice before expressing disbelief at anything that Hipster DBag types from now on. That includes Buffy/ Angel comments.
@ Prole Hole- It sure seems to take a side…
Five Years is sooo good. I love how it takes forever to get to the chorus- it's a very tense build.
What happened? Why don't people talk about The Damned anymore? I like them a lot, but they weren't part of my punk rock education as a kid
I hated Floyd for just that reason. They didn't click for me until I was out of college, and could take the music on its own without all the stuff surrounding it.
I agree. It wasn't a great movie but it was worth seeing for those moments.
I'm sorry to have disappointed you, Spicoli323.
Confirmation bias, schmonfimation shmias. I wasn't born being obsessed with REM, they were all over MTV from 1989 (when I started paying attention to music) through the Monster/ New Adventures years (mid/late 90's).
If Hipster DBag really only became aware of pop music in 1998, then I guess you could make a case,…
Don't take him seriously, you guys. I'm 32 and was completely obsessed with REM at age 15. You couldn't turn on the radio without hearing them, and anyone who'd ever listened to rock music would gush about their early stuff. Every book about punk/ new wave devoted at least one glowing chapter to them. The…
I always thought that the Grey Ghost episode had a real high-quality anime look to it as well.
Bob's Burgers and Home Movies before it are the only cartoons I've watched solely for the voice acting. I can look past the animation and character design, because these shows could be radio plays and they'd still be great.
All of the characters on Bob's Burgers are humanoid earthworms. Flash fact.
You're insane
This was a horrible Simpsons episode. Werner Herzog was a terrible voice; hard to understand and a poor actor. The eye popping thing was hideous and repeated way too many times to be funny. Plus you had the same old Lisa plot as always. Terrible episode, the worst since Sasha Baron Cohen.
If Mutant Enemy really intended for us to think "And the whole show is inside Other Buffy's head", it still doesn't really mean anything outside of that one episode. It's never mentioned again (except mockingly), it has no bearing on the rest of the show (I never saw Season 7 so maybe I'm wrong about this but I doubt…
