I thought Chang was much funnier in Season 1 when he was crazy AND had power that he constantly abused. It's less funny when he's a crazy low rung outcast. Then it got funny again when he started looking for conspiracies and started a riot.

Yeah it just felt extremely generic compared to the other episodes, which were flawed but had real risky jokes that paid off. This was really bland and slick and over-produced, like a 7th Heaven episode but with a few funny lines.

I think it's funny that it's so blatant (but also weird for the characters for sure). Also, don't forget that Nick really fell for Jess's mom there for a bit….part of me kind of wants all that to get REALLY weird, like on the level of Arrested Development incest jokes.
