Thing is I agree with everything you said but I'm a little confused about why you would call people out for their dismissive sexist "go back to Jezebel" attitudes, and then use the phrase "canned Jezebel-commenter explanation".

I always thought it had something to do with being overly sensitive in the sense of being "anal". Like "you are being very anal about these dirty dishes". That kind of thing.
