No one knows. They keep a lot of that stuff secretive because their "church" is falling apart and of course they would. His son has some theories, about his father getting even more conservative as time went on, finally alienating some of the members, though they're still engaged. I'm sure the full story will come out

That's one of the sickly fascinating things this cult does. They brainwash the empathy out of humans from an early age. Is there any worse thing to do to someone? They basically destroy people's souls, a fate worse than death.

That guy is seriously a hero. And whatever Jewish federation he works with, which has paid to help two of the escapees travel the country and learn more about the actual world around them.

They think literally everyone except for the people in their congregation are going to hell. They don't even want to convert anyone, just let them know for some reason. It's the most self-centered ethos ever, almost impressively. They even have these creepy smiles on their faces when they talk about people they've had

I almost wish that they didn't all believe this, that it was a scam used to get money through religious lawsuits. At least then it would seem somewhat human, as awful as it would be. But this rumor has been constantly negated by escapees. They really believe that. Crazy. And it's also interesting that while their

Yup. He apparently used slurs when talking about those clients behind their backs. Despite the fact that he and his family say that they're not racist because it doesn't say anything against black people in the Bible. He also got in trouble for ethics violations while he was practicing. You'd think those would be red

It's fascinating that those people went to law school and can still think that way. I still have a hard time believing all of this actually happened and continued to happen because there are so many bizarre angles like that.

I agree that it sends a weird message. As much as I love a difficult get like Gillian Anderson, it wouldn't hurt for them to think about the ways in which they handle recurring characters more. They have 3 male leads and that's a done deal but they could also use Alana more or something. There's a lot of death on the

They don't make efforts to convert, the kids don't seem that interested in marrying, maybe because the church almost completely consists of one family, and they're bleeding members. Phelps did not think this one through. But he was so psychologically warped that he probably was fine just being able to control his

After Phelps died, I started reading articles and watching videos about them, including the 2 Theroux docs. I was especially fascinated by everything I could find about the family members who'd escaped. I'd known about the "church" for a long time but didn't know much about it, like the fact that it's a cult. At least

I can't edit this right now because Disqus but I've also noticed that the majority of line-less murder of the week victims tend to be male. That seems unusual for a show like this and I appreciate that it isn't just women getting attacked. Women get murdered but at least they get meatier roles, ahem, in the meantime?

I don't know. He's arrogant and artsy.

He ships Hannigram? I've never seen any indication of that though he seems to have a sense of humor about it.

I love him in the filmed version of Company. I can't believe that's the same person. Hope he's having fun on Hannibal.

I live in Indy. Thank your dad for me. :-)

Yay. Good job! I hope your write-ups turned more people onto Greek.

Those other companies better still be interested in buying it or I will murder someone.

Your user name is amazing so clearly you're doing something right.

I think people's opinions about True Detective will hinge a lot on the ending because, like most mysteries, a lot of the pleasure is derived from anticipation. They'll either feel rewarded or duped. It's pretty impressive that Hannibal's as good as it is when we know the big whodunnit already.

Now that's my kind of Inventory
