It just makes me sad.
Are you saying there's a problem with a show featuring a woman taking the top title? Because I really hope that isn't what you're saying.
Whether or not someone can change is definitely one of the biggest questions that Enlightened is posing. Obviously, Breaking Bad also answers that question with a definitive yes.
It's a joke. That right there is what the kids these days call a meme.
A premise is just a premise. You have to actually watch a show to be able to give it any kind of assessment.
But then there are other lists that did include Enlightened.
Happens to the best of us. I was just told that TV can't be art so this should go well.
The TV Club and the level of passionate discourse that can be found therein is a testament to the fact that TV can be art. TV employs artists of all kinds, from directors to costumers to writers. If film can be art, so can TV. If you don't think TV can be art, you haven't been watching the right shows. And don't act…
I think Todd said he advices people to give it until the end of the 4th ep. I don't remember exactly when I connected with it but I know it took awhile. But after that, it was love.
Oh good. This conversation. That's all these Best Of comment sections have been missing.
There was a little bit of buzz around S1. It was faint but it was there. There were thinkpieces written about it in S2. AVC's reviews were extremely enthusiastic. Not everyone follows this stuff on Twitter, but it was a hot topic on there amongst critics. No, the buzz was never as big as it should have been but it was…
It does produce a better list. I checked.
People have been raving about Enlightened now for two years. Very few people, yes, but people. This choice didn't come out of nowhere. And I don't know why you have to take such an aggressive tone about this stuff all the time. We've gotten in fights because your comments tend to put me on the defensive. You're super…
If you paid attention to good TV criticism this past year, you would have heard of Enlightened.
Starz owes us so much money by now. Why are we helping them? They killed Party Down! Those bastards.
This year of TV has been great but what I'm wondering is what we think of the title of this article. I only started getting into TV relatively recently so I have very little by way of comparison, but 2013 did seem like a crazy strong year for drama. If it had been as good a year for comedy, it probably would've broken…
Are we going to eulogize it in every Best Of comment section? …that's fine by me.
I was a major skeptic who's not a huge comic books or CW person. I tried S1 and quit initially. I heard it got better later and decided to give it another go. My advice: Give it another go. Shit gets cray.
Maslany is great but I too think that the conversation surrounding her is unfairly overshadowing some of the great work that was done by the writers, and even other actors, on Orphan Black in S1.
