And the movie still hasn't opened in Japan, which would seem to be a money press there.

@avclub-90d7348fce3c310aa923fc635bf7170f:disqus He mostly just ignored it, though. there's not a whole lot that happened with lightning superman that couldn't have worked with standard Superman.
you can crap on most of them all you want, but Krypto is amazing and deserves respect.
how about some love for the other side of the Superman coin at the time, Kurt Busiek? while Johns was trying to go for this big silver age action movie thing, Busiek was channeling the best of the Bronze age Superman.
@avclub-022199896b1f52952c180b60caa681bd:disqus , I think the issue is more with the characterization Byrne went for. He's a very Either/Or writer without much room for middle ground, so a lot of Superman's previous characterization went away, because he didn't agree with it. Any sort of outsider status or regret…
I'm getting sick and tired of the AV Club's pro Bulls bias around here.
"It would be the year’s cutest Hellboy project if not for Art Baltazar and Franco Aureliani’s Itty Bitty Hellboy, which gives the little red guy and his friends an adorable Tiny Titans makeover this August."

Yeah, he still does- posts them to his public Facebook, too.
Well, Grodd is an outcast from Gorilla City, so him being a rage monster ape doesn't really hurt that at all. I don't mind either interpretation, personally.

@avclub-734ffb84cfa214922893511fae356b45:disqus just checking. I've seen it in Chicago, also, but that doesn't mean anything. Maybe it's just a midwest thing nowadays?

It's not a cliche, it's just the truth. Name me one person who doesn't physically intimidate him that ben weasel wouldn't punch for throwing ice at him?

Yeah, I don't think the atheist got her comeuppance. and, if I'm remembering right, I think McDuffie was an Atheist, so there's that.
I see we've done Springsteen, but what of Tom Petty? (The Enterprise) went straight into darkness
Out over that line.
