What's the stretch? that the final scene purposely evoked the Godfather or that the reference earlier in the season deliberately foreshadowed the ending (rather than an "after the fact"connection)?

Then why is Tony clearly disappointed when Meadow tells him in the finale that is she hadn't seen him arrested by the feds all of those times then she "probably would have been a boring suburban doctor."?

i think Todd is saying that he's "inconsistent," which I agree with.  The funny thing is I always thought Gannascoli was more convincing in the New Hampshire scenes than when he was acting like a tough mafioso. I don't think he's as terrible as people are making him out to be.  I thought he was actually good in the

Yet in "The Test Dream," Tony dreams of having sex with Charmaine in the same dream where we see that Tony perhaps subconsciously regrets not living a straight life as symbolized by Coach Molinaro who believed Tony had the ability to be a football coach.  It's the same dream where Artie (his true "straight" friend)

I agree that it wasn't "necessary" in a practical sense.  Chase could have had showed that Tony is pissed that Chris is distracted and not taking care of his crew in other, more simplified ways.  However, that would mean we would only have 85 episodes of this show instead of 86.  A "mediocre" episode of this show is
