Damn it. Should've scrolled down.
I guess it says how old I am that every time I see Jane Levy I expect Jane Leeves, and every time I see Rachel Cook I expect Rachel Leigh Cook. Remember the '90s?
Yeah, sorta sounds like that was wholly unintentional, but boy do they look related in those two randomly selected publicity stills.
Every article I can find says that they cheered at the announcement of Howard taking over. Where are you seeing that the crew cheered when it was announced Lord and Miller were fired?
Given that producer credits get pretty mushy, in their capacity as producers, Box Office Mojo has Kennedy's worldwide lifetime gross at $13.5B, Feige's at $15.8B, and Cameron's at $3.9B. Given that those numbers are all just silly amounts of money, I'd give the nod to Kennedy given the length and breadth of her…
So basically Cara Delevingne but Australian?
I think it's a lot less good than I want it to be or that it could've been. Which doesn't mean it's not a delight, but I stand by it not being particularly successfully executed or realized compared to its potential.
Rad seems like a gross understatement. The mall outfit is such a deep cut. I love it.
The photoshoot that resulted in that header image. I didn't phrase my transition from Most Wanted to Inhumans very well.
Like all of this ex post facto fan wankery, you can't prove it wrong!
I'm not sure how you meant that. Is it complimenting or disparaging Carter? Did you mean a lot of shows have produced a worse product with more resources?
Yeah, I don't know what happened, but it was the worst possible sequence of events. SHIELD has (fortunately) recovered, but it was really poor planning by the network and must've been immensely frustrating for Blood and Palicki, especially.
My rewatch was not kind on Carter. I didn't realize the first time through how much it's basically riding Atwell's insane charisma and her chemistry with D'Arcy. I mean, it's still better than a lot of shows, and I'm sad it's gone, but it is also sort of an insubstantial mess.
It is baffling to me that anyone would even attempt to argue that another film in the franchise is at the level of Prisoner of Azkaban. That movie is an all-too-brief glimpse into an adaptation that would've elevated the source material, rather than slavishly following it.
The crunching noises that follow that line are always super satisfying.
Spinoffs from SHIELD have fared poorly. Agent Carter was basically DOA and limped through two underfunded, poorly advertised, half-baked seasons. Most Wanted pulled two of SHIELD's best characters off the show before being cancelled without a pilot, and then…that photoshoot happened. Not a promising start!
I just take comfort in knowing that, as soon as they go on sale, there will be thousands on ebay for 10x the price.
Heh, well, maybe when I have time, I will come back to this and we can test that theory. Haha.
I've been very critical of her, but I do trust that Kennedy is going to make this movie work. We'll never know if the original would've been better (see also Wright's Ant Man), but she knows what she's doing. It's all very awkward and has definitely tainted my unbridled excitement for this movie, but I don't doubt…
