I wasn't here as long as some of you, I didn't post as often as some of you and I certainly wasn't upvoted as often as some of you- which of course I am not bitter about at all, no sir.

Hehe yes she does, it came out May this year. I liked it a lot. It's centered around arctic exploration, highlighting the tension between environmentalism and corporate interest while honing in on a friendship between two men who each represent a different side of the conflict. It's pretty tense and twisty.

I like Ozark too. I've seen the first five episodes now and I really don't get all the middling reviews. I think Bateman gives an excellent, subtle performance. I like the show's ominous vibe and the odd juxtaposition of upper middle class family life and organized crime. We seem to be in a serious minority, though.

I had the luxury of spending most of last week lounging poolside which allowed me to do something that I haven't done in a long time: read more than a few pages of fiction a day. I finished two books: The Ice by Laline Paull and All That Man Is by David Szalay. Both are outstanding books. I was surprised to like

I was able to go to Sequoia a long time ago- almost ten years now. It really stuck with me, amazing place. Unique landscape, so much natural beauty.

Yeah, Sway is great.

I say this entirely without sarcasm: holy cow, you're quick.

Aw, I like AJ.

Wow, it's pretty shocking that a dude who refers to himself as "Tha God" would be a tool.

I've never seen Breaking Bad (I know, I know), but I am digging Ozark so far. Like you, I wonder why it hasn't become a bigger deal.
I've seen some middling reviews, perhaps that's part of the issue.
I really enjoy Bateman in it, though. I think it's an interesting show.

I loved Dunkirk but goodness me it was tense. I have rarely felt such a strong adrenaline rush from a film- maybe I'm just a wuss, but it left me an absolute mess. I stayed at the theater for a good twenty minutes after it ended before I felt I was okay to drive.

Gosh, I love her. If I age half as gracefully and stylishly, I'll be happy as a clam.

Same here, basically. Supernatural has some terribly butchered spells, especially in the early seasons.

That's very interesting, I've never seen it used that way here in The Netherlands. I feel like "alumnum" would make more sense as a gender neutral alternative, but hey, that's just my opinion.

This may make me a pedantic tool, but it kind of irks me that MIT would refer to an alumnus as "an alumni". That's a plural noun.

I hosted a dinner party yesterday that quickly devolved into a night out filled with drunken dancing and debauchery. Good times, but the hangover is a killer. Worth it though! Today was a lot of cleaning with Friends from College on in the background. Not a great show, but it worked as a sort of half-distraction.

I don't know if I'm going to keep watching, to be honest.
All these unrealistic plot twists are really messing with my willing suspension of disbelief.

I know, right. Are we to believe that a dude that refers to himself as "the Mooch" could conceivably become the White House Communications Director? I mean, this is supposed to be a realistic political drama, not a cartoon.

Oh my gosh how awesome would that be. If he just came right out with it.

Not his cosmetologist or his hairdresser, shockingly.
