I thought it was a spectacular feat of awareness for the writers to rememeber that Miranda was a thing at all.

Every sitcom premise sounds bad:
A bunch of people hang out at a bar.
Six friends hang out at a coffee shop.
Middle-aged losers hang out at a diner. One's a comedian.
A psychiatrist has a radio show and lives with his former cop dad.
A bunch of people work at a paper company and hate it.
A bunch of people work for local…

I don't get the complaints about the long ending. Is there any other way to wrap up a nine-hour story (12 for director's cut)? I'll admit the repeated fades-to-black fakeouts were not warranted.

We did this musical in high school. Our principal had a nice midwestern accent, so every time he plugged it over the PA it sounded like he was saying "Little Shop of Whores".

The Tin Woodsman came to be because his axe was cursed and chopped off his body parts one by one. I think that bridges the gap to "body horror".

I thought that was lovely. Everyone else is coming up with complicated rationalizations! It's not a feminist issue, its not a "that's her legal name" or "that's convention in the 30's" issue. It's just a symbol of Amy finally choosing Rory over the Doctor, as we all knew she would.

Here's my one problem with this episode (and I haven't read all 1000 comments so I don't know if you all have addressed this or not): Amy can still communicate with the Doctor — she's clever enough to figure out ways to put messages into the time stream. The TARDIS can't go back to New York because of timey wimey.…

Don't worry, you're not alone, either. I live for books and TV. Music is the stuff I put on in the background to pass the time while I do something I don't want to do, like work or exercise.

And if she suspects that the slide can postumously exhonorate Doakes, why is she not making a big deal out of it? (Aside from the necessity of secretly tracking Dexter for the sake of plot and secretly being silenced in the end.) This episode was a B at best because the writers continue to make this homicide…
