Hey Scharpling - read this on the air:

I'm seeing this Friday and cautiously optimistic for it.  Plenty of the best humor of the book can't translate perfectly, but as long as they manage to keep enough of the wacko-slacker-horror vibe, it should be fun.

I'm always on the lookout for Pliny bottles (not for myself but for
trades) but it and other Russian River IPA bottles are damn near
impossible to find in CA unless you chase around the distributor's
truck.  Same with Alpine, the other gold standard in California IPAs.

If you're a meat eater, the Publican is cool.  Uncommon Ground is always nice, but not so swanky as to be uncomfortable.  Hopleaf and Goose Island Clybourne are most known for their beer, but the food at both places is top notch.

Yeah, I'm wary of using P&Z as a yardstick, as Pazz & Jop, like everything originating from the Village Voice/Voice Media, clearly ain't what it used to be.

Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and say the problem here is not with "fake nerds" but with people so spectacularly overbearing and sanctimonious about their recreational predilections that they actually feel the need to "quiz" others on their pop culture acumen in order to satisfy some bullshit personal credibility test.

The poster's assertion that Louis C.K. "mostly travels by skateboard" makes me laugh.

I can only assume that @avclub-9b3d616efffb52751fd968db82ece52a:disqus was escorted away from his computer midway through composing this message.

Hoagies and grinders, ad infinitum

Best pseudo-drug trip involving Simpsons children: 'Let's go crazy Broadway style', 'Lisa the Lizard Queen' or 'Lisa in the Sky (no Diamonds though)'?

Let's go crazy, Broadway style!

But he started it!

He also hates Tom Waits, which automatically makes him history's greatest monster.

In honor of the return of Archer, without telling my girlfriend I changed our alarm tone to the Archer exchange:

That's a typo.

FXX:  The Extra X is for Exxtra Charlie Sheen

Third base!

I'm going to give this both a "TMI!" and "Tell me more. . . " at once.
