We started cracking open some of the good beers as Michigan was called blue: started with Goose Island Juliet, then Maine Brewing Mean Old Tom (a stout aged on vanilla beans) then Clown Shoes Vampire Slayer.  When Ohio was called, we capped  off the evening with a Great Lakes Barrel Aged Blackout Stout.

Blurgh.  Not a good weekend, or upcoming week personally.  Both of my grandmothers are in very bad shape at the moment, and seem unlikely to recover.  And my father's mental state seems to be unraveling, in an unequivocally disturbing way to those around him.
