@EmmaWK:disqus  Well since I only learned about the theory in last week's comments, maybe I shouldn't act like some kind of expert.  But it seems that when people reference the theory, it's always in context with what they expect to see happen BECAUSE of Jon's parentage.

I esp like how the parts of the map we see in opening credts credits changes depending on what's being shown in the episode.  For example, we saw Pyke in this weeks credits; have never seen it before.

That's how it's talked about, but I think it's worth mentioning that the actual theory is a little broader than that.  The actual fan theory is that Lyanna +Rhaegar= Jon AND that Jon is going to become one of the "heads of the dragon" and rule Westeros with Daenerys.  Put another way, the fan theory is not that Jon is

This really should be possible, but it would be a fair amount of work to figure out the reading plan.  Probably easiest just to slog thru. Dance With Dragons extends beyond Feast For Crows anyway — the FFC characters return for the end of DWD.

Spoilers obviously, books 4-5 like everything in this thread

What would be Syrio's motive — assuming he survived the situation last time we saw him and wound up in a Kings Landing jail — what would be his motive for changing *in prison* from the Syrio identity to the Jaqen identity?  Why would he want to go up to the wall as another person?

Didn't Cersei make up the story about the death of her first child, to tell to Catelyn at Winterfell, in order to bring some sympathy to their conversation about Bran's condition?  Or else didn't she likely kill her firstborn herself, if it came out with black hair?

Ned was not exactly soft, as I think the beheading in the opening pages of CHAPTER ONE was supposed to illustrate.  Also various fights and battles won by him in the past, referenced in several conversations.  Also his scene when Littlefinger brings him to Catelyn in the brothel in Kings Landing.

Spoilers book, uh, 4 I think.

They had to find another way to bring the Finger Dance into the show.

If L + R = J, doesn't Howland Reed have to be around to lend an air of (heh) legitmacy?  Or at least explain it to the reader?

Tonight  Melisandre said "she's given you nothing, no SONS."  That does not preclude Shireen being around, just reinforces the worthlessness of girls in that society.  Or the worthlessness of daughters to a king, or whatever.

I'm blanking on "Allleras, novice and 'Sphinx' at the Citadel".

Agree, I enjoyed getting Cersei as a POV character.  I was mostly irritated at meeting NEW characters as POV.  For example the kid from Dorne who's chasing after Daenerys, and the Iron Born captain who's doing the same thing.  I didn't like adding to an already large list of people to keep track of.

Jon can't "stay" dead, because he hasn't even gotten dead yet.  He's wounded and Millisandre is going to heal him with her magic.

His dad didn't *give* him away, Theon was taken as a "ward", basically hostage, after Baelon's rebellion.

People who were newbies last season and read the books after: including me & my wife!

Doesn't dying Lord Hoster give us important info about Catelyn's sister and her marriage to John Arryn?

Dickie Bennett would make a great Craster.

It's all in the reflexes!
