The thing with George W. Bush is that it's not that he was conservative, it's that he was a complete fuck-up. Reagan was a lot more conservative overall but he actually understood that he couldn't ignore dissenting opinions entirely. He also appointed people who were, you know, COMPETENT to important positions of

AW! DONKEY! DON'T LOOK!

I was all ready to "like" you, @AimingforYoko:disqus, but then you had to remind me of the Monorail Song's existence.

To be fair, In the Barn is meant as an animal rights piece. The idea being, what if we treated humans the way we treat animals? It's supposed to shock you by making you consider the horrors of things we think are routine and acceptable to animals.

Maybe not quite as disturbing on the surface, but another creepy thing that bothered me even as a 13-year-old:

This is true—even if you're not turned on, there's a sense of "Oh my god! SEX!" that makes you feel like you're reading something "adult" and "exciting."

I read it until my senior year in high school. I had already realized the series was going downhill at that point, but pushed on because at some point (I think around when book 15 or 16) he had said that book 18 would be the last one. So I pressed on, mostly because you hate to leave something unfinished right? And I

Hey, I like puns, especially shitty ones. The problem is when they're just crammed in, almost nonstop, with no consideration for whether they fit the narrative or not.

I think the main reason was that the companies were too small to be able to pay out much money. So it would have been so much time and money spent with very little money coming back from the lawsuits, and then more companies would probably pop up anyway.

I'm going to say that James just barely edges out Jen for me. But it's pretty much splitting hairs. If I see either of their names on the podcast, that means it's automatically going to the top of my playlist.

Probably a lot of it has to do with how much you care about the game. If you really get into the game then I could see how people like Tig would drive you up the wall. On the other hand if you don't care all that much about the games, then having Tig on is more fun because you don't get impatient as easily.

Didn't even get nominated, though. No way it could have won.

I like the joke too, but I did kind of see it coming.

Hans Moleman getting hit in the groin is the funniest sound effect in the history of the Simpsons.

Not to defend him but I kind of agree about the jokes being more predictable. Season 6 was the point where I noticed myself seeing a lot of the jokes coming. Especially, whenever they would subvert a cliche I could see the subversion coming. Like, when Bart said "that yellow, lemon-shaped rock over there" I knew it

I'll never forgive her for saying "Heart Shaped Box" is about her vagina. Not that I was all THAT fond of Heart Shaped Box to begin with. It's just that I was on a 32-year streak of never thinking about Courtney Love's vagina, and she ruined it.

I think Caddyshack is a terrible movie that is only funny because they stuck a bunch of great comedians in it, and let them go wild. The performances are hilarious. The movie they are in is almost irrelevant.

I feel like there is some kind of a metaphor here, but I'm not getting it. Probably too subtle.

First off, maybe you should say spoilers? Obviously it's not a big deal like spoiling a movie or TV show, but I kind of prefer to be surprised by unusual developments in a podcast.
