I think Victor should also get a shout-out for his simple solution to Max's problem: Have Kristina put Skittles in Max's lunchbox.

What? No Milli Vanilli on the list?!
What a travesty. Also, The Offspring released their debut this year (re-released in 1995), which should ensure that 1989 gets HipsterDBag's vote.

Dirty Dancing
When I was 7 years old, I watched Dirty Dancing at my friend's house and my parents were furious that her parents let us. At the time, I thought they were angry that I was watching a PG-13 movie before I was 13. I had no concept of the sex and abortion themes in the film.

Tip/Camel Toes - That made my day.

Dear Chris Brown
Please go away until you can make some contribution to society other than news headlines about how incredibly arrogant and unrepentant you are.

Who knew?
David Lee Roth was apparently the sane Van Halen frontman.

Any interest I have in Pearl Jam at this point is purely nostalgic
Good for them for not ending up in the Graveyard of Popular 90s Grunge and Alternative Bands, but I haven't liked anything they've done since 1995. They were much more fun when they were fighting against Ticketmaster and making cameos in early-90s

"Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go." Good call.

Oh, what a feeling
I remember being entranced by Lionel Richie's "Dancing on the Ceiling" video when I was about five years old. I don't think I liked the song as much as I loved the video. I also had a crush on Davy Jones. No one could convince me that the Monkees weren't kickin' during the early 80's.

Totally. I was born in 1981, which I think technically makes me Gen Y, but I'm ashamed of it and continue to fly my Gen X flag proudly.

If they really want to appeal to the early 20's demographic …
They should show Zoobilee Zoo. College stoners would make that must-see tv.

I'm the same age as HDB. R.E.M. is also my all-time favorite band, alongside Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Cure and Radiohead. So, let it be said that you don't necessarily have to grow up in an era to appreciate good music.
