Yeah, even when the plotting on the show was at its worst (probably late s3 and most of s4), the character arcs never really suffered I thought. Like the OP said, David and Ruth probably have the best, most distinct arcs, but I like how Clair ends up as well. Nate's remains kind of a dick pretty much the whole

Ugh, I really hated that storyline. I agree that in the moment of That's My Dog it's actually pretty terrifying and well done, but I just hate how it came to dominatee the David storylines for so long.

Holy shit Michael C Hall is a great actor. Even when he (minor spoilers I guess) gets stuck with what I thought was the worst storyline in the entirety of the SFU in season 4 (people who have seen it probably know what I mean), he just nails the emotion of it so hard that it's easy to get over the stupidity of it. I

Wow, I can't believe I've missed that up until now, very good read. This is the guy that's doing the recaps too, right?

Classic Who
I'm super pumped you guys are doing old Doctor Who. I'm all caught up on the reboot and have been meaning to get into the old stuff, but there's just so much of it to sift through it'll be nice to have some kind of guide to what's worth checking out.

Again…
This show's producers really seem to have difficulty making the right choice for which episode should be a finale. Both of the final episodes so far have been solid but unspectacular, whereas the penultimate episodes (Hawaii, graduation) felt like much more solid places to end the year on.

I'm pretty sure the guy who runs Showtime has outright stated something to the effect of "We're going to run Dexter for as long as possible because it makes us tons of money". I think the only hope for it ending soon may be if Michael C. Hall decided to quit, although throw all the money they could find at him to

Yeah those guys have pretty much the most schizophrenic careers in all of Hollywood. I have to think they know how shitty their film scripts are since they otherwise are such genuinely funny guys, but they tend to make shitloads of money so good for them I guess.

To be fair, have you guys ever heard Whitney Cummings stand-up? It's aggressively unfunny, and the sudden network love for her is pretty baffling (although I'll admittedly check out that other sitcom she's involved with just because I'm in love with Kat Dennings).

Yeah…
Based just on the previews, everything about this looked like one of the lamer episodes of Buffy. Like not even with better effects

@Untene, I wouldn't say that's accurate, it just gets built up as some very important life event, and then when it actually comes around it's just nothing more than a mildly entertaining night for most people. Just not worth all the hype is what I would say.

I honestly love Pitchfork normally, but Tom Breihan is just the worst. I mean…dude loves Waka Flocka Flame.

Seriously though, prom was probably one of the most disappointing experience of my life to date (before you say anything, I'm only 21). Nothing particularly terrible happened or anything, it was just one of those things where you go "that's it?"

Well…
To be totally fair, 500 Days of Summer was a really great script. But yeah, anybody is capable of studio schlock I suppose.

Man, so true, she's still looking damn good. Sadly, some of her best nudity in Before the Devil Knows You're Dead is forever ruined by the presence of Philip Seymour Hoffman ass.

Comedy Death Ray
I thought this was the first week in a while now that CDR has been truly on top of its game. Besser's Phelps was fucking hilarious

Yeah I really love that podcast, I do wish they'd just do it for a full hour though. It's only bi-weekly (or less sometimes), and they clearly had more to say in this week's especially

No, I don't even mean I like them musically (I definitively don't), I just like the hilariousness of them.

I would completely without reservation pay to watch a 3-D GWAR fuck-finding expedition documentary in theaters.

Well
I do not care for metal in the least, but god damn it these guys are awesome.
