I'm pretty sure the Sandburg/Hader interaction resulted when they cut to a reaction shot of Hader and he was eating. I think he spit it out off camera and Andy broke after that.

I liked the start/reboot for this season, it seemed to put it back on the…erm, rails. The first episode was just sorting out the logistics of getting us back on the plain and bohanon back leading the crew.
