I just tried to adapt the "She was born in the 80's, she still uses her phone as a phone" line to somehow apply to this, but I couldn't make it work.

I don't know—I'm a bit lukewarm on it. I've only listened once though. I'm hoping I begin to enjoy it more—it just feels, I don't know, tired? I hear a little too much of "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground," in the opening track, and a little too much "New on the CW" in the second track. Hopefully a few more…
I collect LP's. I try to buy every album that I think will make my AOTY list. Sometimes this isn't possible.
I just rewatched the new episode. I've been back and forth on some of the weird "hyper-real" elements of the show this season. This episode's opening scene would fit into that—the group's over-the-top laughter at Britta, then Anderson's blubbering delivery of the line about love etc…But watching the episode, I…
Between it's support for the Cardinals and this, St. Louis is proving itself to be one of the least awesome places, ever.
Abed's reaction at the end of the episode after the Britta/Troy and Jeff/Annie stuff was probably my favorite moment.
I wish I could enlighten you, but I'm at a loss. My response to this episode is so far away from yours that I'm not sure how to find any middle ground.
For some reason I can't get a Reply button to come up on Evil Jeff's post, so I guess I'll just respond here.
I'm not sure that's what it is saying, because it makes the same point you do:
So, last night I rewatched "Celebrity Pharmacology." I've never been a huge fan of the episode but in light of, ahem, "the feud of which I don't want to speak," I have a whole new respect for the episode…
Interesting points. I haven't been a huge fan of the serialization because it's making me watch the show in a different way, but I like the way the show lets the serialization take place in the subtext—I like that Troy and Abed's underlying issues haven't been explicitly dealt with (as someone pointed out in this…
Out here in Oklahoma, every once in a while we run across news stories about methlabs in cars blowing up.
Oh man, I'm finishing up an edit of my dissertation. I'm terrified to even give it to my director because I'm making a few choices that she will not agree with. Good luck to you, though.
I think thoughttrigger's point, though, was that the development has been happening for 2.5 years now, thus meaning that the story/character beats are earned—maybe not in the context of a single episode, but in the broader context of a show. Eventually, every show earns the right to pay off character beats that…
I really loved this episode. I'm not quite sure where it falls on my list. My gut says top 10, but my top 10 is so packed with awesome stuff that I think this one will require some time and rewatches to really see where it falls. It's definitely in my top 20, probably in my top 15, and it might just squeak into the…
Season two started a bit weak for my tastes, but the run from Cooperative Calligraphy -> Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas is one of the best runs of sitcom episodes I've ever seen. I've come to liken it to the last three songs on "Automatic for the People."
Taxi is good because it doesn't have too many seasons.
I just finished a Cheers rewatch. This should be fun.
Dean would totally be John Allen Hill and Chang could totally be either Paul, or Andy. But probably Paul.
