was is Steal This Double Album? [that's the version i have] i gotta say, i think it has a lot of excellent stuff on it:  "Me and Jesus the Pimp in a '79 Granada Last Night" is one of my favorite songs by Boots, featuring heartbreak and ass-kicking in equal measure. "Cars and Shoes" is a fuckin' jam, i love the repo

wow - i totally would have gone with klingon for omar. "a man's gotta have a code, yo." TNG-era romulans don't have a code, although they did in the TOS-era… and TOS-era klingons were just thugs, but became honorable outlaws by TNG.

just finished the book and rowling darkened up her worldview plenty in this book - last last few chapters are almost unrelentingly bleak [although there are a few glimmers of hope, too] but the segment that really got me was the part, about midway through the book, where she gives us the perspective of terrie weedon,

aren't there Absolute editions of PLANETARY? [checks] yep, 27 issues across two volumes… don't know if they're still in print, tho - amazon appears to be asking $176, which seems a little bit high.

hunt up the rules for Illuminopoly on the internet and chose to play the Dog Faction - you can pick your own ending conditios at random and basically just play as a spoiler. it's tons o' fun!

i like stephenson's voice, too - there was a great bit in Command Line about microsoft being like a station wagon, apple like a ten-speed bike and linux an abrahams tank that will never run out of gas and coming with a bonus army of volunteer tech support who will come to your house to fix it at night if it ever

i think Arsebestos was the only original piece in the book and it's short - not that i'm trying to actively steer people away from supporting stephenson or his publisher but you can find the whole thing by searching Google books if you're curious.
