It's possible. There are plenty of tax breaks given to developers that can make a case for it improving the tax base or marketability of a town.

In our case, again probably an exception, the stadiums are built with tourist tax dollars collected from hotels, which by law can only be used to build new infrastructure to promote tourism. You can make a fine case against the law even existing, but at least for now, the monies can't even go to schools.

If you shared your car with someone else, then they should be paying for a portion of it

Because they don't use it 100% of the time. Plenty of other events, sports and otherwise, can take place in the stadium that has no connection to the NFL team that plays there, and can be a huge force of economic good for the city.

You can tell the NBA is rigged because two of the best teams play in Cleveland and Oklahoma City, while New York has two tire fires of teams, and the Lakers are a joke.

I live in Orlando, and every city's situation is different, so in no way does this represent every market. But our tax payer funded renovation for the football stadium that doesn't even hold a football team is one of the biggest money drivers in the city. Multiple college bowl and preseason games, mega soccer events

They should pay for a significant portion of it. And the balls the Raiders have in asking for Las Vegas to give them almost a billion dollars is disgusting. But there absolutely is money to be had for local municipalities if they have infrastructure to hold gigantic events like international soccer matches or marquee

Movies also allow for billionaires to syphon off tax credits and distract from real problems. But no one bitches about the entire existence of movies the way they do "sports ball."

"Cavaliers have, alongside the Indians and Browns, become a rising tide."

Economic impact should be a multifaceted approach for any metro area. Sports and entertainment is certainly one major avenue, but not the only one. And no one said it should be.

I think you greatly overestimate how much money indie bands have to throw around for pay-for-play schemes.

My wife has a friend with a dumb ass husband. This dumb ass husband bought a gun legally, then left it in his car parked on the street. His car got broken into last week, and only the gun was stolen. That's how guns end up being sold illegally, when dumb ass "good guys" don't give a shit to properly care for it.

That happened in Orlando. A decent number of dead in the bathroom were from police fire. The Orlando police were awesome, so it's not a knock against them. But if they can't protect friendly fire, my dumbass neighbor certainly isn't going to get the job done any better.

There is no other purpose to a gun than to try to cause serious or deadly harm to a living thing. There are lots and lots of other uses for cars besides using them for getaway vehicles in crimes or killing people while drunk. If cars were only used as getaway vehicles, and there were 25 mass bank robberies a day,

If the text specifically stated that "A well regulated organization being necessary to the security of a free state, Congress shall make no law respecting…the right of the people to peaceably assemble." it absolutely would be open to interpretation. You can't just ignore the well regulated militia part. It's there for

Ohhhhh! Now I get it. You've never actual met someone left of center.

The only use is to kill or cause serious harm to something.

This season had plenty of those sorta moments. In fact, if anything held it back this year, it was the feeling that it was going back to the same well that was already better explored in previous sketches. The gun bits that did make it on air were actually some of the highlights, specifically because it was a new POV.

If the only use of a car was to assist in bank robberies, then yeah, sure.

4-6 years was recommended by the prosecution, and the judge specifically cited the undue strain it would cause on Turner to send him to prison.
