Amen. Scandal is an utter embarrassment and the fact that it is so popular is a travesty of the 21st century.

This looks like the best show out of ABC since Revenge (RIP my beloved show). TV needs more true to form soap operas (take note Empire) and Blood & Oil looks like it'll be one of them. Even if it doesn't get renewed, the episodes we do get will have been a refreshing gift.
Agreed, it's a very disappointing decision as Revenge is the main reason I come to AV Club.
I'm one of the hugest fans of this show but really, this episode was meh.
Them and Mason Treadwell. I'm glad the show is letting some of the takedown victims in on Amanda's identity- the psychologist was my favorite revenge-of-the-week so I'm glad she got a Mason-esque role in Emily's plot.
Innocent but unlikable was pretty much Declan's modus operandi.
Can this show ever get an A? I don't think Revenge has gotten even one this season (forgive me if I'm mis-remembering) and it's been completely on fire. And if any episode deserved one, this was it. This episode was frigging mindblowing.
The retcon would be fine if it didn't make Emily look like an incompetent idiot.
Emily wants Conrad to confess to his crimes? Gee, it sure would have been convenient if Emily had- say- a laptop full of evidence proving every single crime Grayson and his posse had ever committed that she didn't throw into the ocean. That would be swell.
Still can't believe Revenge was given the same score as the mess that was the OUAT finale. OUAT deserved a C- as it was rushed, hokey and contrived. Revenge? Was tightly plotted, emotional, dramatic and just an amazing two hours of television. Either the same person needs to write every review or an editor needs to…
Agreed, if this episode isn't worthy of an A then I don't know what is. This review is ridiculous. Very disappointed Carrie.
What Republican party would elect Conrad with his "stellar" family values record (daughter is illegitimate child of terrorist, wife has another illegitimate child she gave up for adoption, divorced and remarried twice, son was arrested for murder, Conrad was arrested for murder etc)?
I honestly thought this episode was setting up the assassin guy to be Patrick. I really hope he isn't though because he seemed pretty basic and the writers should take advantage of the break to cast someone more fitting.
I am so damn happy about Emily telling Jack! Everything about that scene was perfect- the intense and grand build up with Conrad in the background, Jack's hipster disguise, Emily racing up the red velvet staircase in slow-mo, Jack and Emily's romance-cue position atop the auditorium, the amazing music effects. I had…
I actually felt really bad for Padma- these people destroyed her life, kidnapped her father, kidnapped her, locked her up for 6 weeks then murdered them both. All on the basis of her being an attractive female who could seduce Nolan.
I am 100% here for hot and scheming Jack (I love his sly Emily-esque half smile), although I still want some of that softness there for the eventual Jack/Emily reunion. His alliance with Ashley should be great.
Declan isn't that bad this season, he serves his purpose at least. Can you rename your character Daniel? He's gotten insufferable with his rich white guy problems.
Actually lol'd in real life at the thought of Emily just casually taking Carl from Jack and giving him to some random nun.
Jack is definitely Victoria's son.
I hope the show didn't specifically give Victoria's age- thematically, Jack being Victoria's son is far more interesting than it being Nolan. I like Nolan as a character but him being Grayson (or whatever Victoria's maiden name is) just wouldn't work.
