I have no idea what your definition of a "hot beat" is, but as someone who prioritizes production and flow over lyricism (especially for the first few listens), I'd suggest listening to the whole thing instead of scanning through it. This is a masterpiece. Yeah, I wouldn't trust your friend's opinions about television shows. Because I don't know him. But you shouldn't trust him either.
 
Anyway, the comparison to The Wire is unfair because not only is Homeland not as good as The Wire, it's also nothing like it. Despite the heavy subject matter, Homeland is still, and I
