The opening bash from The Great Beauty.

Bela Tarr's Werckmeister Harmonies: The one time I was consistently compelled by his love of long shots and genuinely floored by his storytelling. That shot that ends with the emaciated naked man is absolutely devastating, while the rest of Tarr's filmography is often agonizingly protracted.

"Birth in Reverse" - St. Vincent (since it's on a 2014 album, even though it was released as a single in late 2013).

Music: Vampire Weekend, Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead
Film: Fanny and Alexander, The Wages of Fear, Seven Samurai, the films of Nicolas Roeg
TV: Community's "high concept" episodes (aside from the first paintball ep).

The opening party from "The Great Beauty."

This review deserves a standing ovation just for that hypothetical Malick-ized Glee episode description.

Don's line was great, but I think line (or rather, exchange) of the night has to go to: "Peggy?" "……..PIZZA HOUSE!" *click* I love when this show is funnier than 90% of the comedies on TV.

This review was perfection. Haven't laughed that hard in a while.
