I had a friend who watched that movie and the next time she saw me she berated me over the fact that I actually believe in God.  She kept referring to the movie and I just sat there awkwardly, not even getting a chance to tell her it was a terrible movie with a poorly executed argument since it was mostly just

I fucking loved The Kid With a Bike.  I saw it so early in 2012 but it really remained with me.  I can't wait for the Criterion release.

Whoa, can I ask you what the main argument of this book is?  Or I guess it touches on a lot of topics?

I know, they're such quick reads.  I've tried to drag out the reading experience and I still end up finishing his stuff in, like, 20 minutes.

Congratulations!  I hope they gave the babies respectable names that won't affect them adversely when they grow up and try to get jobs!

You know, the brief scene in Quadrophenia that has stuck with me is at that house party in the beginning where everyone is dancing to "Be My Baby."  I swear, it never occurred to me that it was a song to dance to and I felt so sad that none of my friends enjoy dancing at parties, no matter what the music.  Seriously,

I'm so sorry you had to lose your job in such an unpleasant manner.  I feel horrified for you.  I hope things turn around for you quickly.

…pussy ain't a bad thing…

Have you read Jason's The Left Bank Gang?  Fun and funny.  But I think I like I Killed Adolf Hitler best, cos I'm a sucker for time-travel romances (see also: When You Reach Me).

I was going so slowly with The Redbreast I put a bit more effort this week and I have to say I'm enjoying it a lot.  At first I found the WWII flashbacks boring but now I'm all about them.  The modern day stuff is great, too, of course.

Haha, that's exactly why I'm holding back on Mubi, too!

Wow!  Glad being sober is going well for you!!

Fact: when I was a little girl I saw a picture of Elijah Wood in some magazine, it was promoting The Good Son.  I almost fainted because he was the cutest boy I'd seen thus far in my life.

I hope you were rewarded for this.  And remember, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

"…even De Niro played his part well."

Wait, so is The Kingdom categorized under horror, or is it just a drama, or what?  I'm curious about it but I don't know if I want to plunge into those waters.

Wait, really?  You don't like chorizo??  What if it hadn't been too salty?

Don't feel dumb, I just saw this post and I was about to send Craig a virtual hug until I realized he was kidding.  What a joker, that feller!
