Oh shit, now that's an idea.

In reference to the OCD thing, the problem I personally have with it isn't merely that such story turns just aren't done, but that there's reason they're not done: without the usual organic lead-up or clue-dropping, the whole thing is indistinguishable from gimmick.

Oh, duh, I don't know why I didn't think of that.

"the show about a shitty, white, privileged-but-struggling middle-aged guy"

This is interesting to me because while I completely agree with everything you've said here, I still love the show. Like, do you maybe connect those characters to some shitty real people like that that you've encountered, and that's why they stir up such annoyance? Because I've always seen their characters as

Just a side comment: THANK YOU for providing the transcript!

Macklemore getting any nominations for anything shows that there is no God. Or that God is evil.

I wouldn't say he was unrecognizable at all though. I love his performance and he impressively played the role against type, but I'd still recognize his face if I didn't know it was him beforehand.

It's not mo-cap, just a bunch of makeup. (I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if it was digitally augmented, but Whedon in the commentary says he was costumed.) Also he may have changed up his voice a little, but it was definitely mostly sound engineering to make it sound all monstrous and stuff.

Erm, so I count 18. Why's the headline say 23?

I wonder what would happen if Bill Watterson (another guy with objectively high-quality output and proven audience loyalty) had found a company willing to give him piles of money to fuck around with.

I was basically fine with the AV Club redesign, but the overall design and usability of these polls is fucking terrible.

POOMA man.

Buffy, Firefly, and Angel all had Carey Meyer doing set design, so there's that.

Also, I've never watched a single episode of Good Eats, but y'all have just convinced me to get an Amazon Prime subscription so I can watch all 14,385 seasons of it (since I'm one of those "I don't have cable" jerks).

Hell yeah, I'm doing the "Best Ever" green bean casserole too.
