The timeline on this episode was a bit odd, even for a Doctor Who episode. The robots mention being on the ship for around 2000 years, though they definitely came with Solomon (since he mentions using them to wake up and kill the Silurians). So is Solomon 2000+ years old? How long was he waiting, injured, on a ship

And when those adults are furiously googling the half-remembered nightmare scenes from this movie, there's a good chance they're going to end up at this review. Welcome, adults of the future. We were here, gently mocking your childhood terror as it happened.

How completely appropriate that three of these eleven have ties to William Gibson. What is it about his work that Hollywood just can't get right? (Or at least, can't get right when they are actually adapting his stuff directly. The Matrix and Inception both borrow heavily from ideas in his work and pulled it off.)

Any time I hear a socialist use the term "late capitalism", I get the exact same feeling I get when I hear a fundamentalist christian say that we're "living in the end times". It speaks far more to the violent hopes of the speaker than to any real condition of the world.

True Romance was definitely more of a home video hit. (Even on the commentary for the DVD, Tarantino said he was surprised when the studio called him up to do it and said it was such a great seller for them, since it hadn't done that well in the theaters.) I was lucky enough to see it on the big screen when it was

Indeed. True Romance was one of those pivotal films, the sharp end of the wedge that then let in the more concentrated Tarantino of Pulp Fiction. I legitimately think it helped get audiences ready to make Pulp Fiction the hit that it was. (Hell, at the very least it was 1000% better that the hack-job Oliver Stone did

On the other hand, I would watch the shit out of a feature film adaptation of Walker, Texas Ranger directed by Shyamalan.

I'm sure he offered her a chance to throw in a punk-rock bad boy attempted rapist as a love interest, and she just couldn't refuse.

Damn, no Austin stops yet…

Goddamn I'm looking forward to this album. And, of course, when they come through Austin.
