@OhLaika:disqus , I think there's a For Your Consideration in there. How do you convey the inscrutable in a story or on screen? Basically we aren't really supposed to know exactly what the fuck is going on with the Engineers. Then again, Scott/Lindelof/Spaihts had to be able to know what was up to be able to tell

I can't remember who, but someone made a really good point about why there will never be another Watchmen published from the big 2. Aside from the general creative control you get over at Image, you also own the characters you create there. A good superhero concept is basically like a lottery ticket, it could end up

The one thing that annoys me about the way stasis space travel is used in movies like this (and the original Alien movies, and in the beginning of Avatar) is that it takes no account for time dilation. 2 and a half years traveling away from Earth at something approaching light speed would put you decades or more ahead

Well, they were definitely inscrutable.

Could be worse, they could have been shot and edited by Tony Scott. (Put a big blue filter on your brain…)

I'm willing to accept a lot of things in the alien realm that don't seem to make sense, because it conveys a sense of mystery and unknowability about them (kind of like how we never find out what Fassbender-droid said to the one that woke up). Everything was pretty much speculation, and if it didn't seem to make sense

Enjoyed the movie, even when there were a few moments where I almost wanted to scream at the screen.

What do you want to be these shots comprise approximately 80% of the entire running time of the movie where the n word isn't being uttered. It'll be interesting to see how many trailers they can squeeze out of this.

Love that it's obviously a screen cap from a pirated episode.

Once again, Ovation puts out amazing television that hundreds upon hundreds of people will enjoy. (Seriously, the most popular video on their web site has just over 17000 views, and it's been up for 11 months.)

I think in this context, "cut a bitch" means to unsubscribe from your cable package, refuse to get an antenna, and only watch shows online. (As a cord-cutter myself, I know I'm part of the problem with good television not getting the ratings it deserves.)
