I have no idea if anyone has posted this yet, but the ending for DKR is eerily (and hilariously) similar to the ending of the 1960's Batman movie, right down to Robin watching the explosion over the water:

And ever.
And ever.
Mike wasn't impressed - he's troubled by Walt's new-found bravado. In the Comic Con trailer there's a scene (mild spoilers) where Mike tells Walt that he's a "timebomb" and has no intention of sticking around him when he goes off.

I know it was only dreamed up by The Simpsons writers, but the clip of Kevin Costner apologizing during the entire audio commentary for The Postman should be included on this list.

It's not a real AV Club Taste Test unless there's an inherent danger of E. coli poisoning. I long for the days of Chang eating pork brains and guzzling canned chicken juice.

I call poppycock on the inclusion of ALIENS. More than half the paragraph was a regurgitation of the film's plot, and not an actual analysis or criticism.

The production wasn't exactly split into two releases; it was Donner's plan to shoot both films back-to-back from the very beginning. And Brando sued for additional profits on the first film, leading the Salkinds to axe his appearance in the second film, so they wouldn't have to pay him additional royalties.
I recently re-watched ALIENS 3, including all of the behind-the-scenes special features. From what I understand, it wasn't an issue with actor's scheduling or the fact that Carrie Henn was too old; the screenplay was re-written multiple times and involved a LOT of studio meddling.
You're totally right about MJ; it's as if his passing gave everyone "permission" to rediscover and enjoy is music all over again. But it wasn't just in America. I was travelling through Germany and France shortly after his funeral, and EVERYWHERE I went, people were playing his music. In cafes, in their cars, at…
Listening to Paul's Boutique on repeat today, popping and locking through the tears. RIP MCA.
Actually, I think the criticism here has been pretty charitable. I think the majority of people here dislike Whitney not because she's a woman; they dislike her because she's an unfunny hack with a terrible sitcom backed by an obscene amount of advertising dollars. That might be it.
I'm one of those "other" Superman fans, but most of my ire is directed at the Salkinds, as I can't think of another example of someone who self-sabotaged their own movie franchise in such a spectacular and ham-fisted fashion.
I totally agree with you; the 1-hour format allows for better character and story nuances, AND the fact that Undeclared was a comedy, and not a drama (dramedy?) like F&G. But plenty of other shows can cram entertaining plots and characters into 22 minutes when you have great actors and writers (Arrested Development…
I'd like to add to the shout-outs by saying thank-you to the inventor of the internets (Al Gore) for giving us a sounding-board to share our thoughts and recollections about this amazing show. It's been like much-needed group therapy.
