Well, you've convinced me then. :) I might revisit the DVDs sometime. Apatow should have had a spun-off show with Segal, David Krumholtz and Kyle Gass as the copy store guys.

Wow, you waited 6 years to watch the final episode? That is some serious Buddhist monk discipline and restraint right there. Seriously, props to you.
Mike White played Kim's brain-damaged brother Chip!
I don't know if it's been brought up already, but I desperately DESPERATELY wanted to like Undeclared. It just didn't stack-up at all, and I think Feig's absence was a huge factor. A disappointing lack of character and story development. Additionally, Apatow originally wanted to cast Jason Segal as the lead, but the…
I dunno; I thought Cotillard was crazy and menacing in Inception. I think she would've been a great Catwoman.
Tom Wilson was amazing as Coach Fredricks. Not as one-note as Mr. Rosso or Mr. Kowchevski. Some of my favourite moments on the show involve Fredricks (answering Sam's questions about sex, letting Bill be team captain, the go-cart scene.) One of my personal regrets about the show being cancelled was not being able to…
Bill to Sam (from "The Garage Door"): "Remember that time in civics when I had to fart, and it came out, well, a poop? And I had to flush my undies down the toilet? Do you think I wanted to tell you that?!"
That scene touched a raw nerve when I first saw it. I knew a friend EXACTLY like Millie - super smart, ultra religious (with a secret boyfriend) and was actually part of a math team. We had been friends since elementary school. It's eerie. We similarly drifted apart, although it didn't end as amicably. And there was a…
…Or became the test subject of a renowned neurologist?
I concur - excellent, painful, excruciating and totally hilarious book.
I completely agree that Nick is the most realistic character on the show, but judging by their last scene together on the series finale (after Lindsay sees him with his new girlfriend at the disco) I think she actually regrets not staying with Nick, as she realizes he's getting his shit together. Nick was a "nice"…
No joke! This is actually listed in the book. I highly doubt they would have actually used most of these plots, as I think it was mostly a brainstorming exercise by the writers.
I have the F&G complete scripts, and the book includes a listing of possible "darker story ideas" that the writers were throwing around:
• Kim gets an abortion
• Alan's Dad gets killed in a hunting accident
• Nick gets Lindsay pregnant
• Nick tries to kill himself
• Daniel brings a gun to school to scare a teacher
• Lindsay…
I am literally farting in my chair with delight!
As much as I love the show, I also find Sam Levine annoying as shit. Apparently he and Martin Starr did not get along in behind the scenes.
Carlos the Dwarf approves of this.
@avclub-298673367c6de609ae5970ce1e699c50:disqus You need to aim a little lower: she was actually an Abercrombie & Fitch model who had never acted before.
@avclub-500e75a036dc2d7d2fec5da1b71d36cc:disqus "Special someone?" Pfft. I've already posted it on Pinterest and LinkedIn.
Or you can watch the original movie. It's got Yaphet Kotto!
I might be overs-sharing here, but I had a colonoscopy a couple weeks back to check for colon cancer. (I'm only in my 30's, but I have a family history of it.) I was TERRIFIED, but the doctor told me that it's one of the "most easily preventable cancers" if you get checked out on a regular basis. My diagnosis was…
