For everyone complaining about The Master not on the best picture list, may I remind you of the stranglehold Scientology has over hollywood. Awarding that movie could mean major trouble, in a very real, very serious way.

Jackson was excellent in a difficult role. Too much potential for controversey to award though. Movie is one thing, that character is a whole orher ball of wax. Not surprising that the white guy got the only acting nom for this one. Never underestimate the ptential of academy voters to be chickenshit.

I would actually be perversely fascinated as to what Korean men think about Bollywood.

I may actually put Wreck-it-Ralph in front. Pixar did not win last year, Rango did. Pixar's choke hold on the indistry has slipped, and other studios have stepped up their game.

Prob for the same reason the main girl from True Grit was supporting actress - a better chance of winning. Keep in mind the filmmakers make that choice, not the academy. Now Waltz is in line to be a favorite to win again, where the best actor field is much harder to come out on top.
