Good movie. Something that has always bothered me, though: I never really understood where the compound was related in terms of the physical world of the living, which the characters seem to visit briefly in the film. Any thoughts on that?

It's hard to say now. This show obviously owes a lot to Lost which did not begin to really differentiate its many, many characters until 5 or 6 episodes in. I suspect that will happen here. If we analogize Eleanor to Jack, I'd say we'll cycle through more characters in later episodes, with Kristen Bell taking the

Well, it's pretty heavy on metaphysics and ethical theory for a comedy, but it's not a religious show.

Yeah, it's impressive how much comedic work Jacinto can do with a look.

Disagree. It's only too simplistic if you take Michael's explanation at face value, and the show is pretty clear that you shouldn't.

It was in the second episode I believe, and it's pretty hard to miss. It was a shocking, hilarious heel turn for the character.

I'm thinking not hell, but a very specific slice of the afterlife that isn't necessarily heaven (like Cleveland!) and it turns out that the only choices aren't good place/bad place. At least that's what I would do if I were writing this.

I laughed so hard I cried when he kicked the dog into the sun. Then it just got funnier when he tried to backpedal on the whole "dog is a construct thing" and offered to kick the dog into the sun again and make a better one. This show is incredible.

It sounds like the first scene of a gay porn, frankly.

Am I the only one that think the print ads that say "BULL: HE WILL GET YOU OFF" sound vaguely rapey?

I'm a dad and I don't know about Harambe. But that is really more due to the fact that I don't care . . .

They have real work to do, writing blog entries about fast food. Stop pestering them.

Upvoted for "tragic lube accident."

And all that and a bag of chips.

Yeah, for Canada.

Wow. I would say I can't believe that meme is actually a thing, but it's just another variation on the same shit sandwich we're dealing with in this country. It makes me feel a little less alone to know it's not just our culture that's so smugly specious.

Literally nothing you think of could possibly be worse than that finale. It's worth a shot.

Don't. I watched the whole thing out of a misguided sense of obligation and the belief that it couldn't possibly get any worse. Yet get worse it did, right down to the final second.

People seem to have very strong opinions about it, though.

Knifin' Around may be my all-time favorite.
