It's on HBO Now.
My five year old chose this over Pete's Dragon and The Secret Life of Pets after watching the trailers for all three. He has a fairly high tolerance for scary stuff, but also just appreciates artistic/visually striking films. I'd say take the kid to this unless he is prone to nightmares.
No! Is it wrong that that makes me want to go back and watch these?
I'm only pretty sure that didn't happen.
Interesting fact:
Yes, I imagine that is the actual reason.
It's okay! You really don't have to watch it if you don't want to.
Kubo was amazing. Both of us adults and our son all unequivocally loved it. The critical acclaim is well deserved and I wan as many people to go see it as possible so they make more movies like it.
In retrospect, that really was the right answer.
I didn't hear that one, but it makes me want to murder whoever said it. This was probably the same asshole who says "Look at all the gold medals we won!" Uh, no. You didn't win any medals. Talented, hard-working athletes that you happen to share a country with did. Congratulate them and be happy for them.
I know it was for me. It always sounded condescending when people said it to me in my young 20s, but then I realized just how insufferable I was. (Yes, yes, I'm still insufferable, just in more unique ways.)
Ghost Tick!
Probably better. That picture of Lochte pointing at his medal shows me how weird his index finger is. I don't want to imagine what might lurk in his Speedos.
I think I am going to make that the motto on my new family crest.
It was funny because I didn't know he was 32 when this whole thing started, and I was actually making the excuse that he was an athlete in his young 20s and therefore had terrible decision-making skills, and frankly none of us were all that great at decision-making at that age. When I heard how old he was, I was…
I agree with you that Oda wasn't actively trying to write good LGBT characters; I think he just happened into it. Honestly, I appreciate that more than someone who is deliberately trying to make a fictional world more diverse. Oda's world just got that way because it was so big, which is what one would expect.
I think Luffy definitely qualifies. He just doesn't care about sex. Ultimately he may end up with Hancock, but I think it's more because he likes the attention (and the food) more than anything else. He does form very strong attachments to people, just never in a sexual way.
Except the crustaceans are all rapey torturers who like Fleetwood Mac.
And Dylan McDermott tear-jerking, which I think we can all agree was amazing.
The first season was the only one I could finish. I didn't even start 4 or 5, though 5 looks like it may be interesting. I wanted to like this show so badly, but alas it was not to be.
