I get it, its an easy sell, an appealing way to grab viewers. I'm just kinda' tired of it. To me, the backstories may be slightly different (although essentially they are all modern era chicks with a sense of adventure and flirty love for the Doc, so its not *that* different), but the approach is the same.

I don't think they are going to do anything interesting with the next companion. They tried with Donna, which didnt exactly catch fire, so they will just retread the same old same old, same old, quit-witted Girl Power mold because it panders to the crowd.

I saw the Souffle Girl twist coming from the start and it did lessen the impact of the end. Her boarding up the hatch and that keeping the Daleks out just trigger the fake alarm and I put two and two together. I thought she would be all Davros'd out though.

I thought Souffle Girl was awful. She had the same look, sass-mouth, and fearlessness that most NuWho chicks come with. Its boring to me at this point. Any line of her dialogue could have erupted from River, Amy, Doc's Daughter, Rose, etceteras mouth.

I stick to Rifftrax shorts and b-grade releases, avoid the mainstream stuff. I know its where they make the most money, their highest profile, but, after listening to a dozen or so, I just dont think they offer the same range of jokes when riffing a big-budget film.
