My problem with it is that it just seemed really unnecessary. It didn't resolve anything that hadn't already been resolved, and I thought Harry throwing away the Elder Wand was a perfectly fine final scene.

It's an excellent example of why you shouldn't add time travel elements randomly to a series. It just gets introduced and then dropped as soon as it resolves the plot of book 3. (Though it I'm reading it correctly you can't change the past, making it only good for attending multiple classes at once apparently)
