Alright, fair enough HRN and Fops. His allegiance is still up in the air. But the audience knows that Brody has, at the very least, acquiesced to Carrie's pleas when he tells a fair bit of "the truth," at least appearing to switch sides in the process. For me, that's where most of the dramatic impetus and emotional

I don't mean to cheapen those utterly gut-wrenching scenes by saying this, but yea, Emmys were practically gushing out of Dane's and Lewis's pours in their segment together. That acting turned an expected plot point—Brody switching sides—into a moment of genuine catharsis.

"A clear sense of purpose" indeed. No more twiddling thumbs on that boring farm, which might have worked if this was "Breaking Amish" or a show that knew how to develop its characters with more subtlety. Who else, by the way, was totally thinking "boss fight" when they glimpsed those zombies in riot gear?

Does it reflect poorly on me that I didn't notice that? I guess Ridley Scott has conditioned me over the years to passively accept historical anachronisms.

Here's hoping they infuse the relationship between Pip, Estella, and Miss Havisham—which already exudes a nigh-modern sense of psychological realism—with more sexy sex, sex times.

I'd rather get the strap than the "Stapp." What is that, anyway? Crabs or something?
