Brockman was based on KTLA's own, late, great Hal Fishman, at least in appearance and speaking style. Like a lot of Los Angeles news anchors, Fishman had appeared as a television anchor in many a movie before he died. I think the last one was Spider-Man 3.

Why do people hate the Tanzarian episode so much? Maybe theres some virulent anti-Armenian sentiment on the internet. I remember Harry Shearer hated that episode quite a bit.

What annoys me with these dooms-dayers is that they take every current event and twist it in to some omen about the end times. If most people had any conception of history, they would realize that there have been much worse disease epidemics in the past, much worse wars in the past, and much worse natural disasters…
