I don't really expect to get a great episode out of this show until about halfway into the season. The comparison to Dollhouse is most apt, and I think we are going to get more uneven mission-type episodes before things settle into a more compelling, lower-scale drama. I still have faith that the Whedon/Tancharoen

"Speak English" is on par with a character looking at the horizon and musing, "Storm's coming" when a literal and figurative/emotional storm is brewing. They both need to be retired from use. Permanently.

You're right, it was just a quote about a female Doctor and I lumped in the POC part. I've edited.

Totally, they have their dashing male leads. But, it's very important that the supporting cast for both is much more rounded, and women or POC are cast in important roles (Jack Crawford, Alana Bloom, Joan Watson, Detective Bell). I can't really remember the last time a non-white person was even relevant on Moffat's

I'm not sure why but this irritates me more than the initial announcement and just as much as Moffat's defense that "not enough people wanted a [female] doctor" and his asshat Queen remark. It's like, hey guys, a black person was included in casting once! The BBC has binders full of non-white actors' head shots!

Best sight gag for me was the constantly changing sunglasses on Roy's face every time the camera cut away to someone else while he was trying to find a cool, bastardly pair.

I know I'm late to the commenting party, but my favorite callback was George Sr. referring to himself as "Old Big Bear" from the episode when Gob was going to start his bee business.

guys. GUYS. The car Chevy brought them on for is the "XP 887" which is the Chevrolet Vega—the car that nearly ruined GM.

…I thought he had just Google Mapped Allison's address, and the window was still up when Paul opened it?

In my own revised version of this episode that is now a two-parter, it doesn't have the time reset. I may even get rid of the whole zombie twist.

I think this premise would have actually benefitted from being a two-parter—I liked the *idea* of wandering the TARDIS interior, and the *idea* of the android brother, but it all felt really rushed and muddled. I was also hoping for a longer Doctor/Clara conversation.

Considering the victim blaming/shaming of Steubenville and Rehtaeh Parsons, it seemed oddly topical.

Of COURSE Chaough would drink an Old Spanish.

Also, Joan coaching Kate on how to flirt—from the "disconnected" phone to motioning when to hang up—was flawless.

Well, Liz Lemon's mom did work at Sterling Cooper.

Yeah, Don calling Megan a whore really put me off. Made me flash back to him pushing Betty around and calling her a whore right before they split after he found out about Henry Francis. Also made me feel uncomfortable about the cuts to his memories of the whorehouse during the last episode.

Agreed—hope Dawn gets more screen time.

Gettin' real tired of your shit, Don Draper.
