I'm actually less concerned with the re-appearance of River (love her in concept, hate recent execution, will be fine to see her arc end) than the fact that I *really* do not want to know what the Doctor's name is. While I doubt we will learn his actual birth name, I'm wary of how it's being blown up as this BIG

But then she gets in…without a key…because the TARDIS decides to let her in. The TARDIS doesn't like Clara, and it's going to be addressed next episode.

BBC Official twitter account announced the name of the season finale, along with a promo picture. Contains some casting/slight plot SPOILERS so beware before you click: https://twitter.com/bbcdoct…

So—what's up with the emphasis on songs/music/singing these past few episodes? Akhaten had a huge focus on singing, Grisenko kept pestering Clara to sing in Cold War, and the music room was dubbed the "heart of the house" in tonight's episode.

Any thoughts on the possible Bad Wolf/Rose hints that have been peppered in these episodes?

The (SPOILERS) long shot of the soldiers stopping at the sound of the baby crying makes ME cry, like a baby, every time.

Buffy season 6.

Well said, especially about the final lines of dialogue. "It was a dream" is wishful thinking, and cheap, and not Southland's style at all. Ripping everything good away from a character who has struggled for so long and having him bottom out is.

I feel numb and crushed and dismayed about Cooper, which I know is the point, and kudos to the writers for not backing off and sweeping his trauma under the rug, but…

Yes, or just because she seems so genuine and trustworthy now, that we'll have the rug ripped out from us later when it's revealed it's all a facade. Like Angel/Angelus or the (Dollhouse spoilers) Boyd-as-doll-mastermind reveal.

Maybe it's a side effect of watching too much Whedon, but I'm half expecting Cosima to wind up being sinister/manipulating the clones.

sawdust ear.

@avclub-f76aeae3c3e4c659f32667eae737ed05:disqus Hmm…so should I just try to pick up at season 4 or thereabouts?

Ok, honest question—I have tried getting into The Shield multiple times because of the praise for it on this site. I always get to the first few episodes of season two and stop. Does it get better, or if I'm not bought in by that point is it a lost cause?

I was not prepared for any of that.

I looked him up on IMDB and it gave me a new reason to revisit The Zeppo just to see his zombified varsity self

@avclub-1343022fc4003e2cf16f0368302d86e8:disqus Yep, meant I'm impressed with Sherman's slow slide just as I am with Cooper's slow journey through/past addiction

I am really impressed with his slow spiral in the same way I am with Cooper's transformation. Getting away with the assassination sealed the deal, but iirc he's never really had to face true reprimand for anything. He wound being YouTube-famous and buried in pussy after punching that girl, later becomes the literal

I am just really, really invested in John Cooper's happiness and was terrified for a moment that his ex was going to turn him down. I just want to get a beer with him and give him a hug always.

her article for JazzHate or whatever blew up, and the guy took a chance on her. not that out of the realm of belief. and i doubt it was a very big advance—maybe $5k? it's not unusual for advances to be dependent on the author providing usable work, and if she doesn't deliver and can't repay it easily, they can sue to
